Glass panel

Move the pointer across the card — it is the light.

Depth is read at edges before anywhere else. A rim that turns with the pointer lifts the panel without a heavy shadow.

Glass over text

Drag the droplet across the type.

Frosted panels smear whatever is under them. Displacing instead keeps that content sharp, so the page stays readable through the glass.

sin θ₁ = n · sin θ₂ — refraction displaces, it does not blur

d = t · sin(θ₁ − θ₂) / cos(θ₂) · lateral shift through a slab

Date picker

Spin a wheel.

The row in focus is the row selected — one statement, not two. And the defocus keeps the next value readable while the far ones dissolve, which is what makes a wheel easy to aim.

Press and hold.

A press wants a physical tell. The fringing grows under the finger and never touches layout.

Membership card

Tilt it. The bands move with the angle.

Iridescence is how physical objects say they cost something — foil, holograms, the panel on a bank card. This one answers to how you hold it, which is the part an image of a gradient can never do.
